How Social and Technology Aid Gratitude

With the holiday season kicking off this week, companies everywhere are trying to get their hands on a “piece of the pie” so to speak. B2B companies are trying to secure any leftover budget before the end of the year and B2C companies are pushing Black Friday (Week?) and holiday specials like never before. As a marketer, it is an exciting time of the year. For the consumer, it is an overwhelming time of the year. With all this noise it can be easy to forget some of the more meaningful reasons that the holidays are so special, but the #SBizHour team has provided some helpful reminders.

The Social Business Hour team hosted a chat on Monday November 23rd on nothing other than the power of gratitude. Brian Fanzo and Rachel Miller host #SBizHour each week and dedicated this week’s chat solely to the purpose of giving thanks and showing gratitude. This chat always has a social focus, which provided a unique perspective to discuss the positive impacts that technology has had on social change. Both social and technology aid gratitude in various ways. During the chat Brian said that he believes “Social change is the next big thing for marketing.” Platforms like Change.org have revolutionized social advocacy. Technology has even changed the way businesses interact with their customers, giving them more opportunities to “wow” their customers, and has set customer service expectations higher than ever.

Even as someone who constantly tries to remember how #Blessed I am, it was nice to take a moment out of the day to hear about causes others are passionate about and how social and technology help them accomplish great things. Here are a few of the highlights from the #SBizHour #OpenMic on gratitude:

Question 1: What are you thankful for this year?

Question 2: How do you typically show appreciation and and gratitude?

Question 3: How can we all strive to be more giving and thankful each day?

Question 4: #GivingTuesday is a great thankful cause. What are other causes you support?

Question 5: Share your favorite #LifeHack to a happier more fulfilling life?

You can re-watch the entire chat and see the Traackr shout out at the 12 minute mark.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Traackr family to yours!
